Giovanni Michelucci e Le Corbusier Tumulte dans l'ensemble

Giovanni Michelucci e Le Corbusier, maestri del movimento moderno, hanno disegnato secondo due linee di ricerca spesso divergenti, un loro personale sviluppo dell’architettura del ‘900. Nel 1963, la mostra personale sull’opera dell’architetto franco-svizzero organizzata presso Palazzo Strozzi, sembra l’ideale palcoscenico affinché i due protagonisti possano incontrarsi. Un confronto su due specifiche identità architettoniche che non si misurerà mai attraverso un vero e proprio dialogo ma esclusivamente sul piano delle rispettive esperienze di ricerca architettonica e, su un piano ancora più ampio, in quello della storia dell’architettura. Firenze, Pisa, Ronchamp sono gli scenari, reali o immaginari, in cui si svolgono questi brevi incontri. Di un viaggio nell’architettura si parla in questo articolo dove, i tre incontri narrati, vogliono coinvolgere questi due geniali architetti in un possibile dialogo. Se la storia ci ha dimostrato come l’opera di Le Corbusier abbia spesso varcato le Alpi cercando di innestarsi nel complesso paesaggio italiano, è altresì possibile supporre che tali influenze possano essere lette in filigrana nelle opere dell’architetto pistoiese. The exhibition devoted to the works of the French-Swiss architect, which was organised in 1963 at Palazzo Strozzi, seemed to be the ideal stage for the meeting of the two prominent personalities. A debate concerning two specific architectural identities which would never truly take place through a proper dialogue, but would remain exclusively in the sphere of their individual experiences regarding architectural research and, on a wider level, in that of the history of architecture. Florence, Pisa and Ronchamp are the stages, either real or imaginary, where these brief encounters take place. This article talks about a voyage into architecture, which through the narrative of these three meetings, attempts to draw the two brilliant architects into a possible dialogue. If history has demonstrated that the work of Le Corbusier has often crossed the Alps and attempted to transplant itself into the complex Italian landscape, it is possible as well to suppose that this influence may be identified, upon close examination, in the work of the architect from Pistoia. Le Corbusier's perambulation in rapture around the Baptistery in Florence, as told by Michelucci, may also bring about a much wider reflection; in the works of these two architects, is it perhaps Italy that is considered in such an explosive manner?
