There is much talk today around User Experience (UX), in different contexts of production and knowledge, from business, to design, art, communication and marketing, meaning UX as all the sensations, emotions and thoughts that are generated in the user when he interacts with a service or a system / product. Abstract

There is much talk today around User Experience (UX), in different contexts of production and knowledge, from business, to design, art, communication and marketing, meaning UX as all the sensations, emotions and thoughts that are generated in the user when he interacts with a service or a system / product. It is not easy, however, to find a precise definition of UX, if anything, it is easier to find the allocation of slightly different meanings. This concept is developed however to extend the concept of usability mainly due to interaction with digital interfaces or not. The concept of user experience is treated in ISO 9241: 2010 - which generally concerns "Ergonomics of human-system interaction" - in part 210, that is specifically about the Human-Centred Design for interactive systems. The standard defines the User Experience (UX) as the set of "perceptions of the user and results of the use and / or the expectation of use of a product, system or service. With three notes, the standard also specifies the area within the concept of user experience is positioned and the "causal" in real application. The concepts of User Experience, HCD and usability are defined by ISO 9241:2010 in the context of interactive systems, where, however, considering the fundamental role of hardware and software. This does not mean, however, that the user experience affects only systems defined as "interactive". Interactivity, in fact, is established whenever there is a mutual activity, two or more elements that practce mutual activity each one on the other, then we can speak of interactivity also about the relationship between man and product in general . Can design improve the user experience? Through the different points of view of different authors, this article investigates the factors that may influence the experience of using a system / product - such as user status and its previous experience, the characteristics of the system and so on – and how to design artifacts or systems that take into account the experience that will be generated to the user. The research on user experience, however, includes the research of many disciplines and cuts across them. To fully understand the human experience of a system / product, we must use methods that allow us to build bridges between these different areas of expertise.
