The interference of vortex-induced vibration and galloping is studied through wind tunnel tests. The effect of the mass-damping parameter is carefully addressed. The phenomenon is also analytically investigated through a modified version of Tamura and Shimada's model, which provides results in reasonable agreement with experiments.

Abstract

The interference of vortex-induced vibration and galloping is studied through wind tunnel tests. The effect of the mass-damping parameter is carefully addressed. The phenomenon is also analytically investigated through a modified version of Tamura and Shimada's model, which provides results in reasonable agreement with experiments.
