In recent years, the use of remote sensing technologies as LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) scanners in precision farming has gained increasing acceptance. The application of terrestrial scanners to precision farming techniques allows mapping and characterizing a tree crop, and identifying spatial variations in a plot. They also represent an opportunity for once known and quantified such variations in some parameters, obtain a prescription map from which perform some agricultural tasks meeting the real needs of the crops (i.e. being able to vary the application dose of agrochemicals depending on the volume of each tree). This work focuses on the development and first evaluation of a developed software capable of manage and processing data generated by a laser scanner and GNSS receiver to estimate the volume of the tree structure. This calculated volume has been compared with volume measurements obtained manually, resulting a good degree of concordance between this digital measures and real tree dimensions.

Abstract
This calculated volume has been compared with volume measurements obtained manually, resulting a good degree of concordance between this digital measures and real tree dimensions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
