Industrial Control Systems (ICS) are critical operating components of modern industrial sectors. Many businesses depend on automated control of operations to successfully manage process functions. Technology has enhanced ICS development and implementation. This automation leads to many opportunities of cyber-attacks. Consequently, there is a dire need to develop unconventional solutions and strategies to ensure that the systems remain well protected against potential attacks and infiltration. The involvement of human in ICS got very little attention from the researchers. This paper highlighted the importance of personnel involved with ICS and came up with some comprehensive recommendations for safeguarding the ICS from possible failures and cyber-attacks
