An empirical equation for estimating the permanent displacements of gravity retaining walls with dry backfill during earthquakes is proposed. The displacements were calculated by applying the Newmark's block procedure and were correlated with the destructiveness potential factor. The obtained relationship was compared with those suggested by literature and their uncertainties were analysed.

Abstract
An empirical equation for estimating the permanent displacements of gravity retaining walls with dry backfill during earthquakes is proposed. The displacements were calculated by applying the Newmark's block procedure and were correlated with the destructiveness potential factor. The obtained relationship was compared with those suggested by literature and their uncertainties were analysed.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
