This Special Issue presents innovative pieces of scholarship on Schiller as a philosopher. The final aim to to rehabilitate Schiller's competence and consistency, thereby questioning the old cliché of the amateur philosopher lacking any knowledge. In order to do so, the ten articles composing this Special Issue vindicate Schiller's pivotal contribution in the fields of aesthetics, religion, ethics, and politics, while delving into his education at the Stuttgart Karlsschule as well.
