Abstract The ancient village of Soğanlı is located in the historical region of Cappadocia, in the province of Kayseri. It is dug in the rocky ramparts of the valley from which it takes its name. The presence of water makes the lush valley rich in orchards and vineyards. Along the ridges of the valley there is the abandoned rock village whose dimensions lets imagine a very populated valley. Along the valley there are several churches, many of them with frescoes. The artistic heritage and the particular architecture of some of them make the settlement an Open-air Museum in the countryside. Among its architectural interests there are Tokalı Kilise, Geyikli and Kubbeli Kilise. In September 2015, during a cognitive excursion a photographic survey aimed at photogrammetry of Tokalı Kilise was realized. Photogrammetry returns the architecture in its three-dimensionality and makes accessible its metric data.
