Violence against health professionals is a widespread world phenomenon. Emergency nurses and emergency physician, are among the most exposed. It is not easy to know the incidence of the Workplace Violence, in fact, even today, the problem of underreporting is widespread. Some authors have tried to overcome this obstacle, through the systematic reviews and meta-analysis of studies on the incidence of violence toward emergency staff. By sharing aggressive event record data, in a third-leved Italian emergency department, additional elements are provided on the magnitude of workplace violence in emergency department.
