Exploring the potential invasiveness of Hymenoscyphus fraxineus in Mediterranean mountains

Si descrivono una serie di studi sulla epidemiologia, ecofisiologia e genetica del patogeno invasivo del frassino Hymenoschyphus fraxineus (Chalara fraxinea) svolti nei due focolai appenninici noti, che rappresentano il limite meridionale della distribuzione della malattia in Europa e mirati a capire il potenziale di diffusione del patogeno nelle montagne mediterranee. / The paper summarizes several studies carried out on the epidemiology, ecophysiology and genetics of the populations of Hymenoschyphus fraxineus, the invasive pathogen that causes ash dieback in Europe, at the southern limit of the distribution range in the Northern Apennines. The aim was to explore the potential of the pathogen to establish itself and become invasive at that locations and at sites with similar climatic conditions in the Mediterranean mountains.
