"Vessels in Cooking Fabrics from Petras House I (LMIA): Overview and Capacity Measures"

The work presents the first results of the first-hand studies of the cooking ware from the Neopalatial House I of Petras, Crete (Late Bronze IA). Typology and parallels with other areas of Crete are presented, with some comments on regional variations and chronological seriation. Typology gives hints on the cooking uses and habits of the period. statistics arte presented as well. The study includes the metrological analysis of the preserved vessels, issuing a first proposal for the identification of capacity standards in Petras and, through comparisons with a large data set, in overall Minoan Crete and Mycenaean mainland. Capacity study is at the beginning in the Aegean Bronze Age and this study represent a ground-breaking attempt in this direction.
