Guidebooks have been mainly investigated from a genre analysis perspective. By contrast, not much attention has been dedicated to the study of terms related to the description of monuments in guidebooks of Florence written in English. This paper, as part of a wider research project on multilingual guides of Florence, will look at how Florentine monuments are described in a corpus of contemporary guidebooks. More specifically, the study will focus on the keywords as well as their phraseological networks used to describe the internal and external areas of the main monuments and the works of art found in them. The keywords and their phraseology will emerge from a quantitative analysis of the corpus and will indicate the collocation of the monuments in space and time.
