Nuovi documenti ed ipotesi su Paolo di Ser Piero dell'abaco

Within the field of the abacus treatises and of the history of the 14th Century abacus schools, one of the best known names is undoubtedly that of Maestro Paolo di Ser Piero. In this work, we publish some unpublished documents, all found in the State Archives of Florence, in the Fondo Notarile Antecosimiano and in the Fondo Diplomatico, which provide interesting news, especially about the father of the abacist and about Paolo himself, and also confirm some conjectures that we have previously formulated. Drawing from those documents and from other information obtained from printed texts and manuscripts held in the State Archives and in other Archives and Libraries of Florence, we will later express our thoughts, explanations and new conjectures concerning the original family of the master.
