L’Ocypus pseudo-lucianeo, tra tragedia e commedia

Si intende dimostrare (a) che la hypothesis dell’Ocypus pseudo-lucianeo . opera dello stesso autore dell’operetta, ed aveva la funzione di integrarne le informazioni, forse anche come una sorta di libretto teatrale; (b) che nell’Ocypus c’era davvero un coro, ma in veste presumibilmente pantomimica; (c) che il testo della hypothesis . quasi integralmente sano, richiedendo l’espunzione del solo ῎Ἄγγελος; (d) che la hypothesis contribuiva a definire l’Ocypus come una commistione di tragedia e di commedia, indicandone altres. un preciso ethos. ------------ This paper argues that (a) the hypothesis to the pseudo-Lucianic Ocypus was written by the play’s very author with the scope of adding information to the plot, possibly even as a kind of brochure for the audience; (b) the Ocypus in fact featured a chorus, but in all likelihood a pantomimic one; (c) the text of the hypothesis is almost entirely sound, the need for deletion being limited to ῎Ἄγγελος; (d) the hypothesis contributed to the definition of the Ocypus as a mixture of tragedy and comedy, yet with a definite ethos.
