The contribution reconstructs the genesis and the vicissitudes of the first book with movable type printed by an Empoli citizen: Michele da Durazzini; the author has for a long time been confused with two homonyms. The incunabulum testifies to the readings of its author, and the vitality of a center such as Empoli in the second half of the fifteenth century. The volume, printed in 1490 by Francesco Bonaccorsi (printer of the first printed edition of the “Convivio” di Dante) had a very wide circulation; Durazzini introduces specific references to the territory of Empoli that have so far escaped historical research. Il contributo ricostruisce la genesi e le vicende del primo libro a stampa a caratteri mobili pubblicato da un empolese, Michele da Durazzini; l’autore fu a lungo confuso con due omonimi. L’incunabolo testimonia le letture del suo autore e la vitalità di un centro qual era Empoli nella seconda metà del secolo XV. Il volume, stampato nel 1490 da Francesco Bonaccorsi (stampatore della prima edizione a stampa del “Convivio” di Dante) ebbe una diffusione molto ampia; Durazzini introduce richiami specifici al territorio e aspetti di cronaca che sono finora sfuggiti alla ricerca storica.
