Post–operative atrial fibrillation (POAF) is a common and well–studied complication after cardiac surgery. However, few studies have analysed the incidence and long–term prognosis of POAF after non–cardiac surgery, particularly in orthopaedic and traumatological surgery. Aim of the study was to evaluate the incidence, history and clinical, laboratory and echocardiographic risk factors, of new onset atrial fibrillation following major orthopaedic and traumatological surgery.

Abstract
Post–operative atrial fibrillation (POAF) is a common and well–studied complication after cardiac surgery. However, few studies have analysed the incidence and long–term prognosis of POAF after non–cardiac surgery, particularly in orthopaedic and traumatological surgery. Aim of the study was to evaluate the incidence, history and clinical, laboratory and echocardiographic risk factors, of new onset atrial fibrillation following major orthopaedic and traumatological surgery.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
