Understanding the Local to Design Responsibly the Global

The aim of this paper is to introduce a reflection on local/global thinking within some current topics to be considered along the educational and design process.Nowadays architectural education often finds itself in contrast with two opposite cultural tendencies those of local and global and in terms of values and methods of their expression. The main aim of this contribution is to demonstrate how successful rethinking of both local and global culture can influence positively design and culture. It also stresses that developing ways of thinking of how to achieve benefits from both local and global actions is important in multi-disciplinary education process.
