Purpose: The study aims to verify any possible positive effect in a short- term of the anthropometrics parameters as result of the accelerometer's use in an overweight – hypertensive group. Methods: in order to distinguish “active” from “sedentary” subjects and to provide a larger adhesion to the exercise program and also to assess and to quantify the Spontaneous Motor Activity (SMA) in reason to establish the daily Physical Activity (PA) dose as therapy, the accelerometer (AiperMotion 440 PC –Aipermon GmBH – Germany), has been used. After 3 months of the exercise as prescription therapy, the water balance and the antropometric parameters were calculated Methods: 28 obese-hypertensive were evaluated either by the questionnaire or by the accelerometer. A larger sedentarism in the population was found using the accelerometer respect of questionnaire. Results: After three months of regular physical exercise, the body compositions parameters, investigated, resulted to be improved. Conclusions: The accelerometer determines a real and objective visualization of the own LS mainly expressed as Physical Activity Level resulting on an direct early improvement of the parameters strongly related with the cardiovascular risk. The results support the educational role of the use of the accelerometer even if in a short term
