Dal 1966 al 1973 Luigi Moretti progetta e realizza per conto della Società Italiana per Condotte d’Acqua un parcheggio sotterraneo nel parco di Villa Borghese a Roma. Il progetto è concepito a partire dallo “spazio vuoto” dell’interno, dove il rapporto tra materia immateriale, “non materia” (lo spazio) e materia concreta è sublimato in modo esemplare a definire un’architettura dove tra forma e struttura non vi è distanza alcuna. Il saggio si inserisce in una ricerca sull'opera teorica e progettuale di Mastri che a partire dal secondo dopoguerra hanno contribuito a delineare l'identità dell'architettura italiana. From 1966 to 1973 Luigi Moretti designed and built for the Società Italiana per Condotte d’Acqua an underground parking lot in the park of Villa Borghese in Rome. The project was conceived as deriving from the interior “empty space”, where the connection between intangible matter, “non-matter” (space) and concrete matter is sublimated in an exemplary manner, creating an architecture in which there is no separation between form and structure. The essay is part of a research on the theoretical and design work of Mastri who, starting after World War II, contributed to delineating the identity of Italian architecture.
