Role of the outer scale of turbulence in atmospheric degradation of optical images

Si studia teoricamente il degrado delle immagini ottiche in atmosfera, usando il modello di von Karman che tiene in conto della scale esterna della turbolenza e si trovano le condizioni (di "forte turbolenza") in cui la turbolenza pone un limite alla risoluzione. We theoretically investigate the degradation of images due to the atmospheric turbulence, by using a von Karman model, that allows the outer scale effect to be taken into account. The conditions, "strong turbulence", are found where the turbulence sets a limit to the image resolution.
