This paper attempts a reevaluation of the semantics of עת in the main corpora of Hebrew, from the Bible through the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Mishnah. The syntactic environment (presence of determiners, quantifiers, prepositions or absence thereof) in which the lexeme occurs is thoroughly analysed, as well as the semantic effects produced on the noun by plural marking. Therefore עת's range of meanings is reconstructed with the aim of shedding light on the conceptualization of time as expressed by the lexeme.

Abstract
This paper attempts a reevaluation of the semantics of עת in the main corpora of Hebrew, from the Bible through the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Mishnah. The syntactic environment (presence of determiners, quantifiers, prepositions or absence thereof) in which the lexeme occurs is thoroughly analysed, as well as the semantic effects produced on the noun by plural marking. Therefore עת's range of meanings is reconstructed with the aim of shedding light on the conceptualization of time as expressed by the lexeme.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
