Air pollution affects children more than adults. This study maps school locations and p-AQHI (pseudo-Air-Quality-Health-Index) across Calgary. Land-Use-Regression models estimated air pollution based on data from 50 monitors over 2-week summer and winter campaigns. Spatial analyses show that pseudo-AQHI exhibits distinct seasonal and geographical patterns. Results are communicated through a Story map that received ~3,500 visits during its first week. Without the story map, it would still be possible to represent the data, but it would be much harder to disseminate the results broadly.

Abstract
Air pollution affects children more than adults. This study maps school locations and p-AQHI (pseudo-Air-Quality-Health-Index) across Calgary. Land-Use-Regression models estimated air pollution based on data from 50 monitors over 2-week summer and winter campaigns. Spatial analyses show that pseudo-AQHI exhibits distinct seasonal and geographical patterns. Results are communicated through a Story map that received ~3,500 visits during its first week. Without the story map, it would still be possible to represent the data, but it would be much harder to disseminate the results broadly.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
