This paper presents the development and characterization of a dual band antenna optimized for operation at 2.45 GHz at 5.2 GHz in Circular Polarization, hence suitable for WiFi communication in the S and C bands according to the IEEE 802.11/n protocol. The antenna is composed of two disc-based patches arranged in a concentric single-layer structure. The CP operation is enabled by the degeneration principle applied to the TM11 mode of either the internal and external disc. Each operative frequency is controlled with an independent coaxial connector, to ensure the maximum flexibility.

Abstract
This paper presents the development and characterization of a dual band antenna optimized for operation at 2.45 GHz at 5.2 GHz in Circular Polarization, hence suitable for WiFi communication in the S and C bands according to the IEEE 802.11/n protocol. The antenna is composed of two disc-based patches arranged in a concentric single-layer structure. The CP operation is enabled by the degeneration principle applied to the TM11 mode of either the internal and external disc. Each operative frequency is controlled with an independent coaxial connector, to ensure the maximum flexibility.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
