This paper deals with the study of the Sicilian coastal defensive system, characterized by sighting and communication towers, with a detailed focus on the south-eastern part of the coast, to document the architectures still visible. About two hundred towers are currently listed, divided into architectures still visible today, building’s remains and buildings whose position can only be deduced from the historical-archival documentation. The south-eastern defensive system (built at the end of the 16th century) included those towers located in the in those territories known in ancient times as Val di Noto (the current provinces of Ragusa, Syracuse and part of the provinces of Catania, Enna and Caltanissetta). The author, starting from the analysis of the historical documentation and the most recent studies, intends to update the available iconographic documentation using the current techniques of rapid photogrammetric survey (Structure From Motion). Based on the refunds made, will also be evaluated the possibility of planning an immaterial regard path for the detected objects.

Abstract
Based on the refunds made, will also be evaluated the possibility of planning an immaterial regard path for the detected objects.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
