The effect of a particular non-linear detector on the statistics of a fluctuating laser signal is investigated. Numerical results are obtained in the case of a log-normally distributed input signal, that describes laser scintillation in low atmospheric turbulence. Comparison is made with the case of a different non-linear detector, previously investigated.

Abstract

The effect of a particular non-linear detector on the statistics of a fluctuating laser signal is investigated. Numerical results are obtained in the case of a log-normally distributed input signal, that describes laser scintillation in low atmospheric turbulence. Comparison is made with the case of a different non-linear detector, previously investigated.
