Traditionally, the same non-destructive testing technologies which are used in industry and engineering applications are applicable in diagnostics of cultural heritage objects. However, new scientific achievements provide new possibilities. For example, using muon detectors for inspection of the Khufu pyramid in Egypt permitted detection of a previously unknown void inside it. This paper describes application of holographic subsurface radar technology for visualization of the internal structure of art and architecture works. The technology was realized in the design of subsurface radars of RASCAN type that can operate in different frequency ranges with little modification. This paper summarizes applications of these radars for investigation of cultural objects in different countries.
