The upcoming cellular 5G standard represents a huge leap forward with respect to the actual fourth generation cellular network (LTE). The number of differences with respect to the old standard are aimed at enabling new market scenarios, and most of them are completely new to traditional cellular networks. In this paper we will summarize the insights gained from a real-word testbed in Italy, and the main aspects where a network simulation tool can be used to improve the 5G deployment.

Abstract
The upcoming cellular 5G standard represents a huge leap forward with respect to the actual fourth generation cellular network (LTE). The number of differences with respect to the old standard are aimed at enabling new market scenarios, and most of them are completely new to traditional cellular networks. In this paper we will summarize the insights gained from a real-word testbed in Italy, and the main aspects where a network simulation tool can be used to improve the 5G deployment.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
