Questo saggio, a partire dalla critica della lettura della riflessione di Halévy in chiave antitotalitaria (promossa da Aron e Furet), mette in relazione da un lato la riflessione sulla storia inglese e quella sulla crisi mondiale del 1914-1918, dall'altra riconduce l'analisi dell'era delle tirannie all'interesse per la storia del socialismo europeo. This essay, starting from a critique of the antitotalitarian interpretation of Halévy (promoted by Aron and Furet), on the one hand relates his riflection on the British history and that on the world crisis of 1914-1918, on the other hand links the analysis of the era of tyrannies to his interest in the history of the European socialism.
