L’esperienza dei genitori di minori con esiti di ustioni gravi: uno studio fenomenologico-ermeneutico.

The purpose of this study is to examine different experiences of parents of children with severe burns in order to identify the difficulties of this dramatic path, from the accident that caused the burns, to the return to society of children and parents. The method used is the phenomenological hermeneutic method. In order to obtain relevant phenomenological data, five parents (three mothers and two fathers) of former pediatric patients heavily burned, that were aged between 18 months and 11 years at the time of the accident, were interviewed. All the interviews have been recorded on an electronic device, and later on fully transcribed to be used to elaborate the results, applying the analysis of concepts method. The qualitative info extracted from this study allow to have a further and clearer idea of the psycho-emotive reactions of parents who are dealing with children still in pediatric age with severe burns, expanding a research field full of quantitative data, but that lacks insights on subjective feelings and experiences of the people involved.
