Traditionally, the same non-destructive testing technologies which are used in industry and engineering applications are applicable in diagnostics of cultural heritage objects and structures. However, new scientific achievements provide new possibilities. For example, using muon detectors for inspection of the Khufu pyramid in Egypt permitted detection of a previously unknown interior void. This paper describes applications of holographic subsurface radar technology for visualization of the internal structure of artistic and architectural works. The technology was realized in the design of subsurface radars of RASCAN type that can operate in different frequency ranges with little modification. This paper summarizes applications of these radars for investigation of cultural objects in several different countries.
