The aim of the research is to analyse from a geo-historical point of view the evolution of the landscape of the wetlands of Tuscany, during the modern and contemporary age. The work focuses on the acquisition of a time series of land use data from historical cartography and remote sensing sources and the management of such data in a GIS, with the aim of creating a geographic database on the wetlands and a historical series of thematic maps.
