Various 3-,7-,8-substituted pyrazolo[5,1-c][1,2,4]benzotriazine 5-oxides and their 5-deoxyderivatives were prepared to investigate their antimicrobial, anti HIV-1 and antiproliferative activities. Derivatives bearing electron-withdrawing groups at the 3-,7- and 3-,8-positions showed antiproliferative activity against human neoplastic cell lines. Several compounds displayed antibacterial and antifungal activities, although at lower concentrations than those cytotoxic for lymphoblastoid cells.
