At international level a new priority is emerging to implement the meaning of the resilience, including a holistic approach to immaterial issues, knitting together people-centered and place-based approaches into integrated vision that share a common cultural thread. In this paper we share the vision and the main assets to develop an international network and research platform to promote the balanced life of the cities, ensuring both environmental and social sustainability of built contexts, implementing the places' identity survey as baseline to the regeneration of small towns and buildings, and enhancing the immaterial resilience as the main drivers for adopting holistic approaches. The Idea of the network People&Place arises from the need to broaden the meaning of urban resilience by connecting the skills and knowledge of the populations to the material aspects of the anthropic system, enriching the process of Resilient Responsible Design with the immaterial dimension. With the People&Place Network, we intend to focus on the two assets of the binomial material/immaterial that play a decisive role in rethinking the role of resilience in the urban regeneration process.
