We present a three-dimensional switched beam antenna suitable for the Space Division Multiple Access paradigm. The antenna is arranged on an half-dodecahedron and its elements operates in circular polarization, hence it is suitable for indoor operation. When hanging from the ceiling, the proposed antenna is the key-component for MIMO system and for position estimation in indoor scenarios. The paper describes the antenna design and the corresponding simulated results.

Abstract

We present a three-dimensional switched beam antenna suitable for the Space Division Multiple Access paradigm. The antenna is arranged on an half-dodecahedron and its elements operates in circular polarization, hence it is suitable for indoor operation. When hanging from the ceiling, the proposed antenna is the key-component for MIMO system and for position estimation in indoor scenarios. The paper describes the antenna design and the corresponding simulated results.
