La Cité de Vetulonia et ses nécropoles

C’est dans le cadre naturel idyllique de la haute Maremme que le département d’Étruscologie de l’université de Florence a lancé, en 2011, un important projet de recherche consacré aux nécropoles du territoire de Vetulonia. Les fouilles du tumulus 9 de San Germano en particulier jettent une lumière nouvelle sur l’histoire de cette riche et puissante cité d’Étrurie septentrionale. It was in the idyllic natural setting of Upper Maremma that the Department of Etruscology at the University of Florence launched, in 2011, a major research project devoted to the necropolises of the territory of Vetulonia. The excavations of the mound 9 in San Germano in particular throw new light on the history of this rich and powerful city of northern Etruria.
