A program for the analysis of switched DC-DC converters is presented. It relies on symbolic analysis techniques, which may be used to simulate switched circuits in a very easy and fast way. It is a useful tool for both circuit designers and CAD professionals. The program, named SapWinPE, is able to interface with commercial simulation tools such as MATLAB. These characteristics makes the program very attractive for industry circuit designers, who use this kind of general-purpose software. The characteristics and the potentialities of the program are shown through examples.

Abstract

A program for the analysis of switched DC-DC converters is presented. It relies on symbolic analysis techniques, which may be used to simulate switched circuits in a very easy and fast way. It is a useful tool for both circuit designers and CAD professionals. The program, named SapWinPE, is able to interface with commercial simulation tools such as MATLAB. These characteristics makes the program very attractive for industry circuit designers, who use this kind of general-purpose software. The characteristics and the potentialities of the program are shown through examples.
