The purpose of this article is to compare various approaches and philosophies used in localization based on Direction of Arrival (DoA) estimation, to extrapolate which one is the best based on real-case scenarios measurements. The same data coming from a Switched Beam Antenna (SBA) is processed with various methodologies and the resulting errors and computational times are compared. Only scalar data are considered, discarding the phase information; this makes localization possible even with very low-cost radio technology.

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to compare various approaches and philosophies used in localization based on Direction of Arrival (DoA) estimation, to extrapolate which one is the best based on real-case scenarios measurements. The same data coming from a Switched Beam Antenna (SBA) is processed with various methodologies and the resulting errors and computational times are compared. Only scalar data are considered, discarding the phase information; this makes localization possible even with very low-cost radio technology.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
