The complex of Santa Verdiana, born at the end of the fourteenth century as a small female cloistered monastery, sees over the centuries, a succession of different uses, from monastery to prison and headquarters of the Military Administration, up to the recent transformation into a didactic pole of Architecture Faculty. These long evolutionary events have determined a very complex architectural organism, both in the spatial and volumetric articulation of the various buildings, and in the marked heterogeneity of the construction systems used. In this work, a first evaluation of the structural performances is carried out, creating a three-dimensional model of study, using FEM software, on which to conduct static and seismic analyzes. The structural modeling of such a varied architecture has required us to deal with a wide range of problems, connected to the abstraction process necessary to move from the real to a first geometric and then a physico-mathematical model, which allows to adequately describe the behavior of the structure.
