Interaction Design: prodotti High-tech e interfacce per l’ambiente domestico

Oggigiorno la diffusione delle tecnologie digitali rappresenta uno dei fenomeni più significativi che sta cambiando in modo penetran- te le nostre attività quotidiane, le abitudini sociali, lavorative e, di conseguenza, anche l’ambiente domestico. La rivoluzione digitale sta generando notevoli trasformazioni a livello mondiale, mutando la qualità della vita di ogni essere umano. Gli ambienti domestici si stanno digitalizzando e il “prodotto” non è più un semplice oggetto fisico ma sempre più digitale, contenitore dinamico e flessibile. La tecnologia dovrà trovare un posto all’inter- no degli ambienti domestici e questi, a loro volta, si dovranno adatta- re alle nuove tecnologie. In questo scenario, il Design, in particolare l’Interaction Design e i metodi dell’Ergonomia per il Design hanno oggi un’opportunità per sfidare lo status quo dell’ambiente dome- stico, e possono offrire il loro contributo attraverso la creazione di prodotti-servizi e sistemi incentrati sui bisogni e sulle aspettative delle persone. Si riportano nel presente articolo i risultati di una sperimentazione progettuale condotta sulla tematica Interaction Design: High-tech products and interfaces in the domestic environ- ments, insieme ad alcuni studenti stranieri all’interno del program- ma Arts Abroad Project (AAP). Nowadays, the spread of digital technologies is one of the most significant phenomena that is changing our daily activities, social and working habits and, consequently, the domestic environ- ment. Worldwide, the digital revolution is gener- ating considerable transformations, improving the quality of life of human beings. Domestic environments are pursuing digitalisa- tion, and the "product" is no longer just a physical object, but it is becoming a digital, dynamic and flexible container. Technology has to find a place in domestic environments and these, in turn, have to adapt themselves to new technologies. In this scenario, Design, in particular the Interac- tion Design and Design Ergonomics methods, are strategic factors and added values for the innova- tion. They have the opportunity to challenge the status quo of the domestic environment and can offer their contribution through the creation of products-services and systems focused on people’s needs and expectations. This paper presents the results of the design experimentation conducted, together with some international students with- in the Arts Abroad Project (AAP) program, on the theme of Interaction Design: High-tech products and interfaces in the domestic environments.
