E' la biomassa umana il nostro problema?

L'articolo presenta una ricognizione sulle principali stima paleodemografiche prodotte nel Novecento e nell'ultimo ventennio, per ricostruire la serie storica del popolamento umano dalla transizione neolitica, associandola all'evoluzione del volume della produzione, considerata un'adeguata proxi della pressione antropica su risorse ed ecosistemi. Discute poi i risultati di questa elaborazione, i cui particolari indicatori mostrano un'accelerazione molto violenta, che avviene solo a partire dagli anni Venti del Novecento. The paper presents a survey of the main paleo-demographic estimates produced in the twentieth century and in the last twenty years, to reconstruct the historical series of human population from the Neolithic transition, associating it with the evolution of the volume of production, seen as a good indicator of the anthropic pressure on resources and ecosystems. We then discuss the results of this elaboration, whose particular indicators show a very violent acceleration, which occurs only since the 1920s.
