Negli anni in cui Firenze fu capitale d’Italia convennero lungo le rive dell’Arno molti piemontesi. Il legame con Torino si fece saldo, il volto della città si trasformò mutuando i caratteri della prima capitale del Regno. Dal Piemonte ebraico si trasferirono o ebbero legami con Firenze intellettuali e uomini politici come Giacomo Dina, Isacco Artom. Non a caso nel 1867 Firenze fu scelta come sede per un’importante discussione sul futuro delle Comunità ebraiche nel rinnovato scenario del paese. — When Florence became the capital of the Kingdom of Italy many Piedmontese arrived in town. The relationship with the city of Turin grew stronger, the city's outlook changed profoundly, drawing on many aspects from the first capital of the kingdom. From Jewish Piedmont many intellectuals and politicians like Giacomo Dina and Isacco Artom moved to Florence or forged new relationships. It was not by chance that Florence was chosen as the venue for an important gathering (1867), where the future of the Jewish congregations was discussed in the country's new social and political climate.
