The “MELODY: Moon mul- tisEnsor and LabOratory Data analYsis” research project (Fig. 1), submitted in November 2019 in re- sponse to the PRIN INAF 2019 (RIC) call, aims to combine ambitious but realistic and achievable objec- tives, bringing together the necessary skills found at Italy’s National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF) and other Italian academic institutions. The overarching goal of the MELODY proposal is to gather a broader understanding of our Moon by combining surface and subsurface data analysis, and the laboratory character- ization of the lunar environment.
