In this work, a simple strategy for the formation of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) mediated by sugars (SGs) has been studied, focusing the attention on the kinetic of the process. In optimized conditions, SGs, together with a proper capping agent, are able to form AgNPs reducing Ag+ and stabilizing, at the same time, the resulting AgNPs colloidal suspension. In order to investigate the AgNPs formation, the attention was paid on four SGs (fructose, glucose, sucrose, and xylitol); localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) related to the AgNPs formed was monitored over time. Furthermore, the morphology of the AgNPs, was also studied at the different stages of the formation process.

Abstract
Furthermore, the morphology of the AgNPs, was also studied at the different stages of the formation process.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
