We show that laser beam wandering presents high sensitivity to the inner scale of the atmospheric turbulence and describe a method to measure the inner scale based on the structure functions of beam wandering. Experimental results obtained in the laboratory, by producing turbulence with small different heaters, give rise to values of the inner scale between 3 mm and 5 mm.
