In conclusion, despite the use of strategies aimed at controlling inappropriate admissions and at limiting in-hospital spread of disease, coronavirus infection seems to be frequent even in no-Covid-19 facilities for the acute care of older people. Accordingly, further efforts could be necessary to improve a high risk situation worsened by loneliness and the clinical complexity of advanced age.
