With international Colleagues, we have discussed the present lack of chemotherapeutic agents confirmed by RCTs against the dramatic COVID-19 pandemics. However, the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) has shown some encouraging preliminary results at higher dosages and if given in the initial phases of the infection. A brief review of the recently published literature strongly suggest that HCQ should be given to patients at a dosage of at least 600 mg/day. We have briefly discussed how such treatments could improve survival after SARS-CoV-2 infection for both patients and medical/paramedic personnel. As per the title, this paper strongly suggests that HCQ efficacy should be tested now, in the midst of this dramatic pandemics.

Abstract
