The paper presents the joint research project developed by DIDA - Department of Architecture of the University of Florence, CNR (National Research Council) Italy and GRADST - Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy of Split on the enhancement of the Historic City of Trogir in Croatia, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The intervention includes the analysis of the urban historical fabric and the study of the Kamerlengo Castle, the Tower of S. Marco, and the sports facilities, which are included among these historical monuments. The case study highlights the current issues of conservation and enhancement of the urban landscape, which combines transformation processes with renovation and re-functionalization actions aimed at sustainable development, the transfer of knowledge, the passing on living culture, and economic development. These actions involve the integration between the research and documentation phases with the adoption of territorial cultural policies.
