This article is addressed to all those who are interested in the trees protection, both as individuals and as public offi-cers. Here, we want to describe the current bad management of the singular and grouped trees found along the streets and in the squares. Since many decades, it has been trigged a true war against the trees. This war is the daughter of the incipient modernization, industrialization and urbanization phenomena, occurring in Tuscany as in the rest of Italy. It is important to recall the public attention over an unfortunate approach to the trees management. This approach is in fact based on to be afraid of the fall down trees rather than on the safeguard of the arboreal heritage. Plant care, landscape protection and reduction of the risk from falling trees are all aspects that cannot to be in conflict with each other
