PJESORJA DHE PASKAJORJA NË TË FOLMEN E SHKODRËS

In this work we examinethe syntactic constraction of Geg variety of Albanian traditionally described as paskajore (Cordignano 1931, Demiraj 1985, 1997, Banfi 1985, Joseph 1983, Pellegrini 1995). Albanian varieties lack the infinitival inflection, such as that we find in Romance varieties. In ‘control’ contexts Albanian varieties insert either verbal forms inflected in subjunctive or the construction that we study in this contribution, including an introducer and an invariable verbal form, in Geg varieties. Generally, this construction is studied in reference to its distributional properties. Other interesting points concern the categorical status of the elements involved, specifically the introducer and the verbal form.
