In women presenting with new onset chest pain at intermediate risk of CAD, O-CAD seems not to be associated with the increasing number of traditional CVRF. Given the higher prevalence of minimal lesion/absence of CAD or non-O-CAD and the low performance of traditional provocative tests in women, low dose CTA could be a reasonable first line diagnostic tool in these patients.

Abstract

In women presenting with new onset chest pain at intermediate risk of CAD, O-CAD seems not to be associated with the increasing number of traditional CVRF. Given the higher prevalence of minimal lesion/absence of CAD or non-O-CAD and the low performance of traditional provocative tests in women, low dose CTA could be a reasonable first line diagnostic tool in these patients.
